Potential buyers click the link and see the legitimate page, thinking they are buying a pup from there, when in fact the ad shows an email address for the puppymill not the legitimate breeder’s. He’s enormous! How fast do these crazy Sheltie pups grow, anyway?
Other than ear gluing, which is giving me fits, he’s doing quite well. We are attending puppy socialization class at the Humane Society, which is a ton of fun. Merlin has made friends with one of my Schipperkes, and spends most of his day begging him to play (with about a 50% success rate). He has one of the cats wrapped around his little paw, and another who keeps telling him, “Go away, kid, you bother me.”
HEHEHE! Sounds like fun! How tall is he now at the withers? And how old? I can tell you where he is on the size chart. But not to worry. He’ll still love ya regardless of his size.
He is 14 weeks old right now, and (as far as I can tell) 13.5 inches at the withers. And yes, he is affectionate and adorable. I keep telling the Schipperkes that they’d better establish the rules quickly, because he’s going to outsize them FAST. The cats are already out of luck; he’s tied the largest of the bunch at 15 pounds.
OMG! You got a BIG dude there. If he is really that tall, he’s way over the chart. Maybe he’ll stop growing sooner than most, is all you can hope!
My vet says he’s not overweight, just darn big. Wanda of Serenity Shelties chose to place him as a pet because she was certain that he was going to be oversized. Apparently she knew what she was talking about.
Just for grins, how big _should_ he be at 14.5 weeks?
According the the Nobel chart anywhere between 10 and 12.25 ” at 14 weeks. (My first sheltie ever ended up 21″ at the withers, almost collie sized!)
Ok, I had my vet assist me in measuring today. Merlin will be 15 weeks old Sunday. Today, he is 12.75 inches at the withers, and 17.8 pounds. He’s a little moose dog.
A little taller than expected at his age, but better than the 13.5 ” you first thought! Remember standard for full grown is all the way up to 16″, so he still has some room to grow.
Hope looks very proud of herself. And tired.
She’s such a good mom. And all business when it comes to whelping. She was done in about 5 hrs start to finish.
Oh! Can’t believe that Mr. Red hasn’t found his home yet! He is a Cracker-Jack, fun puppy!

Jack is doing fantastic and growing like a weed. I measure him at 12 inches at the shoulder. He has just had 2 weeks with my son-in-law & grandson staying here and he loves those boys! He loves his cat & cousin Boxer, but I would love to have one of his sibs as a companion for him. I am thinking about it a lot and was almost pushed over the edge when I saw miss Pink was available……
Yes, I had been keeping Miss Pink for myself, but lately, her brother Mr Yellow was looking better and better to me, so I decided to make the switch. So he stays and she finds a fun place to live.
She has a dynamite little personality, and I have no doubt will make a wonderful companion. If you are interested, let me know and we can set up a time for you to come and visit her to decide if you would like her for Jack’s company..
Piper reminds me so much of her mother!!!! The pictures of Zoom-Zoom and Piper turned out pretty darn good:) heheheheh
But of course they look good. I had a stellar photographer to show them off. And, yes, I think they look like Hope as well. Small like her too.
Ya know, they both have reallly nice rears…. And Piper’s hocks aren’t as high as I first thought… OK, not going there… they both need to be placed. I have enough dogs to transport back East….. LOL!!!
LOL!!!! Yeah, that Piper looks pretty darn good:) I was very pleased that we got such nice pics of the puppers this time. I hope the pics help show them off to prospective homes… they both will make such nice companions!
